Permanent Residency

For many people from outside the EU, Cyprus is the preferred country for permanent residence. Apart from the fact that Cyprus is an EU member state, there are other significant advantages to becoming a permanent resident. Not least are the favourable tax regime, personal freedom, safety and security, premium education opportunities for children, and the opportunity to engage in business across the EU.

Exceptional Developments

Acquiring a Permanent Residence Permit is a straightforward process providing applicants and their families meet a range of basic requirements set by the government. The application process is best handled by a law firm in Cyprus as they have the necessary understanding of the procedures and documentation requirements. We are able to introduce interested persons to a reputable law firm to manage the process.

The holder is exempt from standard immigration entry procedures. However, having a permit does not exempt the holder from the need for specific travel visas (Schengen, for example) in order to travel to certain other European countries. Permit holders cannot work in Cyprus, but they may own a Cyprus company and receive dividends from any profits of that company. The permit is renewed five-yearly.
